OpenDNS blocking access to irchighway....suggestions? was created by xstar
Hi there,
I use OpenDNS and find that it's blocking access to irchighway via mIRC. I've entered irc.irchighway.net in the OpenDNS whitelist, but I'm still unable to connect.
I can connect if I use Comcast's dns servers (or via a VPN), but not OpenDNS.
Any advice/tips for connecting while using OpenDNS?

It doesn't seem like OpenDNS is deliberately blocking access to IRCHighway. If you're getting no answer at all, it is possibly because of a problem with their service.
Consider using Google Public DNS or Comcast's service.
It would be great if someone more knowledgeable than me could comment on this also.

You're right enough, Andrio. Use literally any other DNS server, xstar. OpenDNS is shite.

Looks like I'm having the same issues. I use OpenDNS for the domain request logging, can't really get away from that. Anyway to get access back to irchighway and continue to use OpenDNS?

Connecting to irc2.irchighway.net *might* help, Braxton. It resolves for some of the OpenDNS servers, at least.
