Long time MIRC user here and frequenter of IRCHighway - but lately I have been unable to connect... Keep getting Unable to Resolve Server.
I've tried several different addresses but none work - am I doing something wrong or has something changed...?
Also - have tried using the IRCHighway Web Chat - and typing in @search <book name> etc which seems to work fine - but can't figure out how to download the returned search txt-zip file (from the Search page) ...
eg. "SearchBot_results_for_ dan brown origin.txt.zip"
Appreciate any advice and assistance - many thanks and regards...

You can't download using webchat.
As for your first issue, do you use opendns? If so, you'll have trouble connecting. Try connecting to irc2.irchighway.net, it should work.

There he drew forth the brand Excalibur
And o'er him, drawing it, the winter moon,
Brightening the skirts of a long cloud, ran forth
And sparkled keen with frost against the hilt:
For all the haft twinkled with diamond sparks,
Myriads of topaz-lights, and jacinth-work
Of subtlest jewellery
And o'er him, drawing it, the winter moon,
Brightening the skirts of a long cloud, ran forth
And sparkled keen with frost against the hilt:

Thanks for the reply Peorth - I'm using MIRC 7.51 running on Win 7 .
Not sure what you mean by opendns. Don't think I'm using that, but how would I know...
Have been using MIRC to connect to irchighway for years but only recently I've been having these connection problems...
I tried using irc2.irchighway.net (using both ports 7000 and 6667) but still get Unable to resolve server...
I have figured out a way to connect using address 162.208.50.119 and port 6667 - which is working well...
So I guess it's some kind of a DNS issue - but not sure why...
For curiosity w/b interested to know whey I can't connect using, for example, irc2.irchighway.net etc...
Best, U

Following up - I went to welcome.opendns.com/ and found out I am running OpenDNS - so that explains why the irchighway DNS names (eg. irc2.irchighway.net) are not working...
Not sure how I wound up using OpenDNS - and guess now 'll need to figure out how to change that - what best to change it to... ??
Cheers, U
